How would you like use to size your system? Size by heating demand load and design temperature
Estimated Heating Demand 6.45 kW ( 22000 BTU/hr )
Output of selected heat pump at design temperature (-30C/-22F maximum) 5.9kW
Percentage of demand load requirement produced by heat pump at design temperature (-30C/-22F maximum) 91%
External backup boiler required 7.5kW
Internal backup boiler required if using Alt Source tank 7.5kW
Where is your project located? Canada
Heating Demand Load 22000
Heating Demand Load Unit BTU/hr
Selected temperature scale Celsius
Heating Design Temperature -15° C
Arctic heat pump required 035ZA/BE

*NOTE* This heat pump sizing tool does not consider cooling loads. There is a possibility that your cooling load is higher than your heating load, and as such the heat pump model suggested by this tool might not be appropriate for your project. This issue is most likely to effect customers based around the great lakes and in the southeast quarter of the U.S.A where summer humidity is high. If your project is located in these areas, a calculated cooling load needs to be considered. A manual J report can calculate the cooling load of your project accurately.

Arctic takes no responsibility for any cooling performance issues resulting from using this estimation to size a heat pump instead of a manual J.
